Dorothy Smith (nee Capson) – June 23, 1947 – August 21, 2017

It is with much sadness and love, that we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Dorothy Smith, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on August 21, 2017 at the age of 70 years.
She will forever be remembered by her loving husband Charles; daughter Theresea O’Donnell (Darrell) and grand-daughter Lauren. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Richard Capson (Mary) and Wayne Capson (Kim), along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rhoda Capson. One of 5 children, Dorothy is predeceased by brothers George Capson (Fran), and Fred Capson (Donna).
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Richmond Park Church (9340-69 Avenue, Edmonton, AB) with Reverend Brad Olson officiating. In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and we invite you to join us in celebration. Reception will follow the service, with light lunch and refreshments.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Cochrane Fire Service & Cochrane EMS, as well as the Emergency Department team at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
