Obituary of Doris Gies
Passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2017 at the age of 91 years.
Doris is survived by her sons Glen and Gary and daughter Gail all of Waterloo, her daughter-in-law Jennifer Prior, grandchildren Sarah (Stephan) Sadekian all of Owen Sound, and Jessica (Stroy Monkhouse) Gies of Kingston as well as three great grandchildren Garabed, Karekin and Norayr. She is also survived by her brother Irwin and sister Levina both of Kitchener as well as a close family friend Garry Kistner.
Predeceased by her brothers Walter, Roy, Tom and sisters Viola, Esther, Shirley and June.
Doris will be remembered as a homemaker, devoting her life to her family, notably her daughter who required additional care. Doris was a dear friend to her neighbours, loved her pets and enjoyed taking care of the wildlife in the neighbourhood.
A special thank you is extended by the family to Dr. Dawn Yew and the staff and support workers of CCAC.
Cremation will take place and a graveside service at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo will be held in the spring. Arrangements by the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S. Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
