Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
Passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 18, 2017 at the age of 83. Loving husband of Shirley (née Fields) for 49 years. Caring father of Albert (Mary) in Edmonton, Gerald (Jessica) and Denise Jobin (Marcel). Reunited with his parents Antoine and Olive. Forever missed by his grandchildren Chelsea, Casey, Madelynn, Meghan, Drew, Tyler, Sara. Great grandfather of Tristyn, Isabella, Claire, Annabelle, Braydon, Kathryn, Hannah and Jacob. Reunited with his siblings Roland (Cecile), Roger, Antonin (Florence), Romeo (Annette) and Paul Emile (Monique). Survived by his siblings Rose Malo (Roger) of La Salle, ON and Olivier (Laurette) of Lasalle, MB. Donat is a retired Chrysler employee after 34 years of service, a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus, an avid golfer and dedicated vegetable gardener. He will be missed by his Brother Knights, family and friends. A special thank you to the staff of Heron Terrace, St. Elizabeth and Paramed for your care and compassion over the last year. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9pm at Melady Funeral Home (519-728-1500) 572 Notre Dame Street, Belle River. Belle River Knights of Columbus Council #2775 prayers will be held at 4pm and parish prayers are scheduled for 8:30pm. Friends are invited to St. Simon and St. Jude Parish on Friday, December 22, 2017 for an 11:30am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
