Obituary of Donald Haden
Haden, Donald “Donnie”
Donald passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 71.
Donald was born in St. Thomas, ON and was the son of the late Harold and Ruth (Hanley) Haden.
As a 32nd ° Mason and past master, Donald was a member of numerous groups, including Wellington-Victory Lodge No. 46, Parthenon Lodge No. 256, Ahcom Shrine Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
For many years Donald served on the Board of Directors for Wedgewood Properties, a geared to income housing development originally started by Park Street United Church.
As a member of St. Andrew’s United Church, and co-chair of the property committee, Donald gave hands on attention to a myriad of concerns over the years. Each project receiving his signature attention to detail.
Awesome husband of Mary (Smyth) Haden of Blenheim.
Loving uncle of Robbie (Angie) Badgley, Ricky Badgley and Deb (Rob) May all of St. Thomas.
Dear brother-in-law of Barbara (Dwight) Carroll of B.C., Glen (Janet) Smyth and Donna (Peter) Beintema, all of Chatham.
Predeceased by his beloved sister Linda Badgley (2017).
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Monday, October 16, 2017 for a Masonic Service at 7 p.m., with visitation following until 9:30 p.m.
The funeral service will take place at St. Andrew’s United Church, 85 William Street South, Chatham, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Gabriella Cutler, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donald to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or the CKHA-Oncology/Cancer Clinic would be appreciated.
