Donald Francis MacDougall
Sydney Mines
It is with great sadness we, the family of Donald Francis MacDougall, announce his passing on Thursday June 15, 2017, at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines on July 18th, 1943, he was the son of the late Alexander and Margaret (Brown) MacDougall.
Donald was truly selfless, loved, and respected by all and was widely known for his random acts of kindness. No matter the situation, Donald would simply say “Don’t worry about it, I’ll take care of it” and you could rest assured knowing that he would do everything he could to help out.
Donald is survived by his wife Edna (Whyte) MacDougall; his daughters Donna LeBlanc and Darlene, and his sons Donnie, Darryl and Duane, the two greatest joys of his life, his granddaughters, Paula (Ben) Boutilier, and Chelsea (Darrell) MacDougall. He is also survived by his sisters, Alexis (George) Penny, Joyce (Dave) King, Cathy (Edward) MacMullin, and Kim MacKinnon; brothers, Joe (Charlene), Alex MacDougall; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law. Also left to mourn are his two special friends, Ruth Maloney and Marty Pickup, his six wiener dog great-grandpuppies, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Donald was predeceased by his granddaughter, Patricia Dawn LeBlanc, in infancy; brothers William and Murdock, and sister Barbara.
Thank you to the staff of 4 West at the Northside General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
