Obituary for Donald Lyon Rose
Donald Lyon Rose born January 22, 1932, passed away on June 11, 2017 at the age of 85 years. Don was on the HMCS Sioux during the Korean war, and 20 years with Firestone. He very much enjoyed working for the Milner, Fenerty law firm, and so enjoyed the people there, retiring in 1994. Don was an exceptionally wonderful husband to wife Deborah, blessed with a son Michael (Pat) and daughter Kathryn (Kyle) Bergum. He enjoyed his three granddaughters, Sarah (Nick), Emily, and Julie (Shane), and one grandson Steven. Don built and flew model airplanes, and had a large collection of model planes. He had a great time on his computer and enjoyed walking his dog MacKay. Don’s family would like to thank the exceptional staff of Peter Lougheed Hospital, the Dr. Fanning Care Centre, the George Boyack Care Centre, and Foothills Hospital for their compassionate and professional care of Don over the past year. Don was predeceased by his parents and brother. A Memorial Service will be held at the Garden Road Seventh Day Adventist Church (155 – 100th Street NE Calgary) on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
