Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Grand River Hospital on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Emma Shantz for 62 years. Dear father of Cindy Winegarden (Ken) and Karen Pike (Allan). Loved grandfather of Josh, Alyssa (Adam), Katie, Jeffrey (Mika), and Jason and great grandfather of Gabe. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Edna Shantz, his brother Stewart, and his sister Grace Rouse. Don worked for many years as the owner/operator of Shantz Refrigeration Ltd.
