The family of Donald Edward Isnor is saddened to announce his passing on August 1, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 90 years. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 66 years Patricia Ruth [Osborne], children Donald Charles [Darlene], James Alfred [Kimberley], and Peggy Ann Isnor [Eric Hopper] and grandchildren Laura, Nathan, Jason, Greg, Christopher, Tyler, Rachel, and Nick and great grandchildren Alyson, Brandon, Annie, and Aubrey.
Born in Halifax NS on February 3, 1927 he was the only son of the late Charles Edward and Lucy Tremaine [Brine] Isnor. He moved to Saint John NB in 1952 and resided there until his death.
Don graduated from Dalhousie University Halifax NS with a degree in Civil Engineering and was a life member of the Association of Professional Engineers of NB. He worked at Ocean Steel and Construction and at Strescon Limited as General Manager from 1956 – 1993. In 1987 he was appointed Vice-President of Strescon.
Don loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid football and baseball fan in particular the New England Patriots and Toronto Blue Jays. He played a lot of baseball in his younger years. Don and wife Pat were avid campers and recently enjoyed their trailer at Cambridge Narrows Campground on the Washademoak Lake with family and friends.
Don will be resting at Fundy Funeral Home, Westmorland Road with visitation on Friday August 4, 2017 at 2-4pm and 6-8pmwith a service on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 10am at Fundy Funeral Home. There will be a private burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
