NORRISH, Donald “Donnie” Fredrick
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Donnie on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the age of 59. Donnie was born at Oshawa General Hospital on March 9, 1958, and grew up mostly in Uxbridge, Ontario which he considered his home town. He left the area in 1979 to move to Alberta, which became his adopted home. He fought the good fight against the enemy Cancer. He had some hard times in hospital but was home as much as possible. He was quite active until he re-entered hospital only 2 days before his passing. Much loved son of Mel and Joyce Norrish (deceased); son-in-law of Annie Wagenaar (deceased). He is lovingly remembered by long time partner, Julie Wagenaar; brother, Brian (Carol); sister, Marilyn; and brother, Scott, all living in the Port Perry, Ontario area; and sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Terry Leismeister of Calgary. Many cousins and friends in Ontario, Alberta and beyond mourn his loss. Loved Uncle of Tara (Mike) Colucci, Christie (Kevin) Clarkson Stephanie Roscoe (Andrew Hill), Nicole Leismeister and Rachel Leismeister. Great Uncle to Logan, Siera, Jayce and Hannah.
At Donnie’s request cremation has taken place.Donnie was a free spirit who lived life by his rules. He spent a lot of time in his shop making his log furniture, playing guitar, writing songs and learning the fiddle.
If desired a donation may be made in his name, by cheque to the Food Bank, 4803-50th St., Caroline, Alberta, T0M 0M0. A Celebration of Donnie’s Life will be held at the Roycal Canadian Legion in Caroline (Branch# 177), 5116 – 49 Street, Caroline, AB on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
