Donald Blakney
1926-2017
Donald Addison Blakney, 91, of Moncton passed away
December 2, 2017 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Glenvale to the late Daniel and Myrtle
(Colpitts) Blakney, Donald was a retired equipment operator for the
Department of Transportation and member of the Wheaton Settlement
Baptist Church. He enjoyed family gatherings, going for drives, and
spending time gardening, and was a member of the Independent Order of
Foresters.
Survived and sadly missed by his sister, Eula
Conley of Petitcodiac; sister-in-law, Betty Hallihan (Willis) of
Wheaton Settlement; brothers-in-law Orlo Wheaton (Carol) of
Riverview, and Bob Wheaton of Houston, BC, several nieces
and nephews including special nieces, Tracey Tingley of Redwater, AB,
Cindy Lewis of Upper Coverdale and Charlene Robichaud of Riverview; as
well as many cousins. Predeceased by his wife, Greeta (Wheaton)
Blakney; sister, Sybil Crandall; brothers, Charles, Carl, Dean, Frank
and two infant brothers.
Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral
Home, 3350 Route 106 Salisbury (372-4800). A graveside service will be
held at Wheaton Settlement Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials in memory of Donald can be made to the
Wheaton Settlement Cemetery Fund a charity of the donor’s
choice.
