Donald Arthur Schroeder
February 5th, 1932 – August 20, 2017
Of Eganville, passed away peacefully in his 86th year on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Marianhill, Pembroke. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor Schroeder (nee Biggs). Dear father of Debbie Schroeder (Bert Firlotte), Frank (Keri-Lynn), Wade (Ann), Robert (Brenda), David (Stephanie), Doreen, Donna (Ralph McEwen) and Donald Jr (Shari). He will be sadly missed by his 27 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings, Delores (Bill Gillissie), Sidney (late Queenie), Joyce (Jim Allan), Clarence (LeeAnn), Harvey (Marilyn), Wayne (Sharon) and Vincent. He was predeceased by sister Beverly, Dorothy Haskin (late Lorne) and Theresa Sell (late Ellard) and brothers Stanley (late Norma) Marquardt and Leslie (Gerta) Marquardt.
Donald had a great passion for his beef farm on Silver Lake Road. He also enjoyed hunting and passed on that love of hunting to his children and grandchildren. His pride and joy was working with his Belgium horses in the bush and participating in many local horse draws throughout the years. He was a very humble man who loved his family and his church.
Friends and family may call at Zohr Funeral Home, Eganville on Tuesday August 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9pm and Wednesday after 9:30am. Funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Augsburg on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11am followed by interment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Augsburg.
