SVAZAS, Diane Victoria (nee Choromanskis)
1942-2017
Peacefully at her home in Burlington, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer, Diane went to see her Lord, on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Beloved wife and friend of Henry, the love of her life for 51 years. Predeceased by her only son Justin (2013), her parents Marija (2008) and Cezaris Choromanskis (1991) and brothers Ramutis and Vytukas. Dear mother of Loretta Schick (John) and proud grandmother of Henry John Schick. Sadly missed by her brother Al, sister Regina, Goddaughter (and niece) Andrea Posely (Svazas) of Boulder and her brothers-in-law, Al Svazas (Shirley), Raymond Svazas and sister-in-law Nancy Svazas. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews; Ramona Cronin (Svazas) or Toronto, Kenneth Svazas of Ottawa, Jennifer Svazas of Yellowknife, Jonathan Svazas of Ottawa, Tanya Cronin (Svazas) of Hamilton, Jacqueline Bosela (Svazas) of St. Catharines, and her families in Lithuania; Antulis, Baravykas, Aleinikovas, Jurkstas, Andziuliene and their children and grandchildren.
Diane and Henry worshipped the Lord at St. Raphael’s Church. Diane loved people and she was loved in return.
We are thankful for the care provided by Juravinski Hospital, Dr. Reade and her team, Burlington Red Cross Nurses, and CCAC, their compassionate care was truly appreciated by the family. It made Diane’s wish to stay at home possible.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, 4072 New Street, Burlington on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. Private Family Interment.
