Obituary for Denis Perron
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father. Denis Paul Perron, age 77 years, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2017.
He was born on April 20, 1940 and grew up in Val d’or, Quebec. He was a long-time resident of Thunder Bay and formerly of Atikokan where his two daughters were born with former spouse Krystyna Perron. He worked as a mechanic for many years in the mining and forestry industries, then with the City of Thunder Bay until his retirement in 2000.
Denis was an honourable, kind, social and generous man whose family meant the world to him. He dedicated his life to helping others. He was a man of simple pleasures and many interests; including a love for fishing and hunting; music festivals, travel and dancing.
An avid reader, he loved to solve a jigsaw puzzle and was always up for a cribbage game.
He will be greatly missed by his girlfriend Carol Kirkpatrick, his daughters Rosanne Perron (Randy) and Denise Brown (Peter) and beloved grandchildren Hannah and AJ and their father (Alan). He is also survived by brothers, Alain (Ginette), Richard (Marie) and Yves (Marlyn) and sister Claudette (Jacques). As well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Denis was predeceased by his parents Fernando and Juliette, brothers Jacques and Guy, sisters Jannine and Pierrette, nieces Julie Quarrell and Richelle Perron and nephew Pasqual Perron.
As per Denis’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 18, 2017 at 11 am when we will gather at Sargent and Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street.
If you desire, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Prostrate Cancer Canada Network or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
