David Thistle – 2017

THISTLE, David H (May 25, 1930-January 25, 2017) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of his wife and daughter after a brief illness at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by his parents Walter and May (nee Hutching); brother Eric; daughter and son-in-law Gail and Don Whitten. Leaving to mourn his wife and best friend of 65 years Elizabeth (nee Kelly); daughter Margo (Larry Noseworthy); grandchildren: David Noseworthy (Jenn), Heather Neville(Danny), Rebecca MacDonald (Alan) and Jonathon Whitten; his great granddaughters who were so special to “Dumpy”: Sara MacDonald, Maddy and Kailey Neville and Katherine Allen-Noseworthy; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Mary; sisters-in-law: Mary Kelly and Dot Thistle. Also leaving to mourn many nieces, nephews, and a large number of friends. The family wish to thank everyone who visited Dad in his last days. A special thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for the care and compassion they showed to the whole family. David was a retired associate of ADT. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Friday, January 27 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2pm, interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations in David’s memory may be made to the Dr. H.
