David John Fowler

David John Fowler 13 juin 1939 – 11 janvier 2017

FOWLER, David John, age 77, of Cole Harbour, passed away on January 11, 2017 in the Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born in England, he was a son of the late William and Florence (Broughton) Fowler.
David served 37 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, both in Canada and England. He served on a multitude of ships, the last one being HMCS Nipigon. He loved to watch hockey, and was a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and enjoyed following Sydney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley (Harrison); daughter Melonea (Nyle) Kelly, Ottawa, Ont.; sons, Donald (Maria Wedsworth), Eastern Passage, Jim (Kelly), Edmonton, AB; grandchildren Oliver, Hugh, Logan, Mason, William, and Vaughn, and many nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Bob.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Sunday January 15 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 10am on Monday January 16 in the funeral home chapel, Rev. David Watt officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bide-a-While Animal Shelter, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
