Fletcher – 91, West Montrose, Colchester County, passed away
Wednesday, October 7, 2017, in Debert Court, Debert. Born in West
Montrose, Darrell was a son of the late Gordon and Cora May (Willigar)
Fletcher.
He worked all
his life at the family farm in Montrose helping his parents and
eventually taking over the operations. He had a great memory of the
family history and was an engaging story teller when you got him
talking.
Darrell is
survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, he
was predeceased by his siblings, Elaine, Greta, Robert, Evelyn,
Willard. A very special thank you is extended to Paul Roberts, who was
a loyal and caring friend for many years.
Arrangements
have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55
Young Street, Truro, where Darrell’s family will receive
friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017, and funeral serviced
1 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017, Reverend Morley Bentley
officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Portaupique
Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Darrell’s memory to
Portaupique Cemetery, Canadian Red Cross or The Salvation Army (Truro
Corps.) are welcomed. Private messages of condolence may be sent to
