Obituary for Darlene Lakusta
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend, Darlene Ann Lakusta.
Darlene was born on August 23, 1950. She passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital on September 27, 2017, at the age of 67 years.
Darlene leaves to mourn her four brothers and their families, brother, Bill Lakusta (Anna), Dena, Adam (Jodi), Eva Rose, Adam, Emma, Aaliyah and Jayden; brother, George Lakusta (Susan), Christopher (Natasha), Hannah, Hayden, Henrik and Halina, Matthew (Nicole), Kaden, Ethan, Wyatt, Amanda Lakusta, Kelsey, Polly and Jordan, brother, Barry Lakusta, Roy (Clarissa) Ethan, Chase. Ryan (Aline), Connor, Madison and Preston, brother, Ken Lakusta (Debbie), Kristin Mykiwka (Jason), Olivia, Falyn, Kara Lakusta, Alexa, Ruby and Raleigh; her beloved dog, Moe; and cat, Leo; and special friends, Lillian and Lesley. Darlene was predeceased by her mother, Rose Lakusta in 2005; and father, Victor Lakusta in 2001.
Darlene was a very generous and kind person sharing and devoting her life to her mother, Rose. Darlene started working at a young age which eventually lead her to Northwestern Utilities (ATCO) wehre she retired after 34 years. Darlene was very close to her family and will be dearly missed.
Please join us in the Celebration of Darlene Ann Lakusta’s Life Wednesday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, AB T6E 6K2.
