Darlene Hunter
1947-2017
It is with great sadness that the family of Darlene Hunter
announce her passing on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Fredericton, NB.
Darlene was born on October 15, 1947 in Melville, Sask.
She had a long career in real estate and later as a real
estate appraiser at CMHC. She loved painting, gardening, walking with
her friend in Flordia and travelling with her husband. She enjoyed
being a grandma, and hosting many family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 50 years, Hugh B.
Hunter; son, Collin (Jennifer) Hunter of Fredericton, NB; mother,
Ethel Lenton of Fredericton, NB; son-in-law, Steve Currie of Owen
Sound, ON; brother, Gerald Lenton of Charlottetown, PE; grandchildren,
Taylor Hunter, Emma Hunter, Sophie Hunter of Fredericton, NB,
Mackenzie Currie and Josh Currie of Owen Sound, ON.
Darlene was predeceased by her father, Leslie Lenton of
Melville, Sask; daughter, Carlie Currie of Owen Sound, ON and several
other special family members from Cape Breton and
Saskatchewan.
Thank you to Dr. Gowan and staff of the Palliative Care unit
at DECH; Dr. Sainz and all the nurses and staff at Hospice
Fredericton; Extramural Fredericton Nurses, as well as Yewanda and
Adrienne at Bayshore. Also, a special thanks to Cindy and Paul, Jana,
Patti and Diana for travelling and taking terrific care of
Darlene.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday,
August 10, 2017 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. The funeral service will
follow at 2 pm on Thursday in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel with The
Ven. John Sharpe officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes
may be made to Hospice Fredericton.
