PICTOU – Daniel Henry Palmer MacLellan, 97, of Pictou, passed away peacefully Monday, March 6, 2017, in Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, surrounded by his family.
Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Robert Henry and Emma Statira (Pushie). He spent most of his life in Sutherland’s River then later moved to New Glasgow. He was a faithful member and elder of Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church.
Palmer is survived by wife, Violet (MacDonald), Shiretown Nursing Home; daughter, Brenda (Jackie) Fraser, Eden Lake; sons, Stephen, Bible Hill; Kevin (Heather), Westville; grandchildren, Michael (Tannis), Edmonton, AB; Roy (Carol) Red Deer AB; Kim (John) Webster, Stellarton; Andrew (Jill) Trenton; Zane (Natasha), Thorburn; Keagan Noade MacLellan, Little Harbour; great grandchildren, Sean, Clara, Statira, Palmer, Harper, Carly, Willow, Violet, Flynn, Dawson; great great grand daughter Elizabeth.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by daughter, Marlene MacLellan (Feb 2017); granddaughter, Shannon Lea (Fraser) McNeil; sister, Jean Morrison.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday March 9, 2017 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday March 10, 2017 in Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Interment will be in MacLennan’s Mountain Cemetery at a later date.
Family flowers only, donations in Palmer’s memory may be made to Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church or Camp Geddie Campership Fund.
