It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Cynthia Lynn Sorrie, 54, of Geary, at the Oromocto Public Hospital on
December 15th, surrounded by her cherished family
members.
Cynthia was predeceased by her father, Albert, and
her mother, Deborah.
Survived by sister, Paulette(Michael) Smith, of Geary;
brother, Butch(Judy) Sorrie, of Geary; niece, Jennifer Smith, of
Geary; nephews, Chris Smith of Lincoln, and Jeff(Susan) Smith
of Geary; aunts Pamela(Joseph) Fisher of Fredericton, Jeannette Detlor
and Velma Gallant of PEI; uncle Earnest May of Ottawa; great-nephews,
Dakota Smith of Geary and Jude Smith of Geary; great-nieces
Courtney Smith of Geary, Alicia Smith of Lincoln, Emma, Laura, Anna,
Sarah, and Clara Smith of Geary; great-great nieces
Katherina Allaire of Lincoln, and Presley Smith-Brooks of Geary; many
cousins and Special Family, Rhonda Berry-Cleghorn, her husband, Jason
Cleghorn, and their children, Jayce and Emma.
Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Saniz and Dr. Reid
and the staff on the Duffie and Med1 units at OPH for their warmth and
caring for Cynthia during her stay
A celebration of life service will be held at the
Oromocto Funeral Home on Saturday, December 23, at 1:30pm. In lieu of
flowers or monetary donations in honour of
Cynthia’s child-like nature and her spirit of kindness and
giving, the family is holding a toy drive. New, unwrapped
toys may be dropped off at Mingler’s Pub, 205
restigouche Rd, Oromocto, from 10am Monday, December 18th,
until 10pm Friday, December 22nd, or may be brought to the celebration
of life service on sat Dec 23 at 1:30, after which they will be
delivered to children in need.
