Obituary for Craig Simpson
SIMPSON, Craig William (1946-2017)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Craig at The Carpenter Hospice, on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Diana (nee Moore) for 49 years. Cherished father of Michelle Olmstead and Scott Simpson. Will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Haley, Ethan, Rachel, Olivia and Nigel. Will be remembered by Jamie Olmstead and Caroline Simpson. Trusted brother of Sharon and her husband The Reverend Canon Michael Fleming. Predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Maxine (nee Norton) Simpson. Following in his father’s footsteps, Craig owned and operated the family business, S.B. Simpson Group Inc., expanding it to include locations across Ontario. He was an early builder and past Chairman of the Board of IDI Independent Distributors Inc. Craig was a long-time member and Past President of the Burlington Curling Club. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 3:30 pm until 7:30 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Atrium, Burlington Premiere Boutique Venue, 5420 North Service Road, Burlington, on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:30 pm, immediately followed by a celebratory reception. For those who wish, donations in memory of Craig may be made to The Carpenter Hospice or the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation.
