Const. Francis Deschenes
1982-2017
Francis “Frank” Deschenes, 35, passed away
following a motor vehicle collision on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
Born in Edmundston, NB., he was the son of Bertrand and Marie Paule
(L’Italien) Deschenes of St. Anne de
Madawaska.
Frank joined the RCMP in 2004. He was currently serving in
Nova Scotia with Traffic Services. He was a former member of the
Musical Ride, a member of the Special Tactical Operations/Tact Troop
and was a Traffic Reconstructionist. In 2013, Frank was recognized for
heroism and received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
metal.
Although he devoted much of his life to his job protecting
others, at home he was equally committed to fulfilling his role as
husband, son, brother, and friend. Outside of work Frank kept busy
with several activities including paintball, motorcycle trips, hiking,
spending time with his dog Kito, and of course his favourite pastime
– target shooting with Savannah. Even while off duty, he was
devoted to giving back to the community and those around him through
the Defenders Motorcycle Club. He dedicated a lot of his time with
them raising funds for numerous charities.
Alongside his parents, Bertrand and Marie Paule, he will be
dearly missed by his loving wife Savannah (Bennett); brother Patrick
(Lucie) of Fredericton; in laws Susan and Vernon Bennett of Lower
Coverdale; brother-in-law Richard of Moncton; his godson Alexandre; as
well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, and
friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview, NB (506-869-2007). A private family visitation has taken
place at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated from
St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (43 Botsford St.,
Moncton, NB) on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 2:00pm. The interment
will be in Saint Anne Parish Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to
