2017
Clifford Joseph Dunn 1934 – 2017 – On Christmas night after a joyful dinner with family and friends, our beloved husband, father, friend Cliff Dunn died suddenly at the age of 83.
He was the cherished husband of Joan (nee Bean) and proud and loving father of Peter (Vonda) of Edmonton, Paul (Jennifer) of Barrie, Anne-Marie (John Healy) of Toronto, Andrew (Micheline) of North Bay. There are eight grandchildren, Alexandra (Matt), Gregory, Georgia of Edmonton; Emma (Ken) and Bobby, Toronto; Allegra, Toronto; Genevieve and David, North Bay. He met his first newly-born great grandchild Claire, this past Thanksgiving in Edmonton.
Cliff was born and raised in North Bay, son of the late Clifford Dunn and Beatrice Collins. He is survived by a brother Michael and sister Judy.
Cliff served his community in many ways: as member of the Widdifield council, Pro-Cathedral parish council, Scollard Hall Board. He was Nipissing’s returning officer for several elections. He worked in insurance for many years owning and operating “Cangiano and Dunn Insurance Brokers” with his partner, the late Murray Cangiano of North Bay.
Cliff enjoyed sports and games but mostly he lived for his family, loved deeply, cared fiercely, teased, laughed and grumbled through a fruitful life. A good man. Peace to his soul.
The family will receive friends at Hillside Funeral Services on Friday December 29th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 30 at 10am at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Cliff’s name to Doctor’s without Borders (Medecins sans Frontieres) or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
