Clayton Messer Piercy
1932-2017
Clayton M. Piercy of Tweedside, York Co., NB passed away December 10,
2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital with his family by his side.
Clayton was born in 1932 at Tweedside, NB, a son of the late Gates
and Annie (Messer) Piercy.
Clayton was employed with CPR for over twenty years and finished his
employment in construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening
and snowmobiling. Clayton was a fan of Jimmy the Janitor and enjoyed
retelling ‘his joke of the day’. He was a member of the
PC Association and Knox Church.
He is survived by his children, Elaine Piercy, Fredericton, NB, June
Piercy, Douglas, NB, Eric Piercy (Jeri), Douglas, NB and Gale Barrieau
(Michael), Harvey, NB; grandchildren, Dr. Chelsie Estey (Sean
Lammerts), Tyler Piercy, Ryan Piercy, Erin Piercy, Jeffery Barrieau
(Julia) and Robert Barrieau; a sister, Ruth Craig (Hollie),
Fredericton, NB; a sister-in-law, Joyce Piercy, Tweedside, NB; several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Erva
(Dunham) Piercy in 2011 and by a brother, Gordon Piercy.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3,
Harvey Station, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral
service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Harvey, NB on
Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 2 pm with Rev. Anne Boudreau
officiating. Interment at Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Patterson, Lester Daley, Lavern Swan,
Claude Collicott and Ronnie Messer.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Barrieau, Jeffery Barrieau, Tyler
Piercy, Ryan Piercy, Mike Piercy and Greg King.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Clayton, the family
has suggested the Knox Presbyterian Church or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
