1934-2017
Clayton Douglas Edgar of Woodstock, NB passed away Sunday, March 5,
2017 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Clayton was
born in Anfield, NB September 1, 1934 he was the son of the late
Norman and Clara (Elliott) Edgar. He was also predeceased by his son,
Leigh Edgar; 2 brothers, Glen and Wilfred Edgar; 3 sisters, Shirley
Tompkins, Phyllis Bell (Clark) and Jean Davenport.
Clayton was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 15 in
Marysville, NB. In his early years he worked for G.E. Barbour Grocery
Wholesalers. Later he was employed as a local contractor which led to
permanent employment with NB Power for approximately 25 years.
Clayton is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 62 years,
Gertrude (nee Kierstead); 1 daughter, Durena Feher (Bill) of Alberta;
3 grandchildren, Maygan, Lindsey and Douglas; 2 great grandchildren,
Lily and Audie as well as many nieces and nephews that loved him very
much.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 1-3
pm. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. Pastor Murray Whitehouse
will officiate. Interment will be in the Magundy Sandbank Cemetery at
a later date. For those who wish donations made to the NB Heart and
Stoke Foundation or to the Magundy Sandbank Cemetery would be
