Claudio Valentini March 21, 1953 – March 24, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Claudio. Peacefully at Villa Forum Friday, March 24, 2017 surrounded by his family in his 64th year. Claudio Valentini, born from Cosenza (Calabria) Italy, living in Sault Ste Marie ON most of his adult life. Loving father of Cory, Ryan and Jessica Valentini (Takacs) and husband to Trudy Valentini (Walsh). Loving Grandpa to Isabella, Patrick and Leona. Father-in-law to Shawn (Takacs) and Melissa Valentini (Farrell). Beloved son of the late Cosimo and Giuseppina Valentini of Kirkland Lake ON. Beloved brother of Francesca and Silvana of Ottawa ON, Robert Valentini & Kathy of Kenora ON. Fondly remembered by his nephews Darryl, Dan, Brent and Marc and nieces Julia and Rebecca. Claudio began his career as a Civil Engineer in Sault Ste Marie ON and established himself formally as “Mr Val” in the Soo soccer youth community. A skilled and devoted soccer coach, passionate musician and President of the Sault Ste Marie Figure Skating Club; Claudio was involved in all aspects of community sports. In respecting Claudio’s wishes there will be no formal mass. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (at 14th St., between Islington and Kipling Aves., 416-259-3705) on Saturday April 1st from 5:00-8:00 p.m. to celebrate his life. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at Villa Forum Long-term Care in Mississauga for taking good care of our dad. Donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation of Canada.
