Peacefully, at the Moncton Hospital,
Charles Raymond McAllister, 89, of
Sackville passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017. Born in
Sackville, Charles was a son of the Late Charles and Doris (Wheaton)
McAllister.
Charles was a member of the Sackville
Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed all sports in general
and is an inductee of the Sackville Sports Wall of Fame for the
1952-1953 Sackville Eagles Hockey Team. He was an avid
outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at the
shore.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of
67 years, Doris (nee Lawrence) McAllister, Sackville; daughter, Carol
(Darrell) Cole, Moncton; sons, John (Joanne) McAllister, Amherst and
Jeffrey (Carol Steele) McAllister, Sackville; three grandchildren,
Natalie McAllister, Chris (Chloe) Cole, and Malcolm (Julie) Cole; two
great grandchildren, Ava and Read Cole; a sister, Velma (David)
Crandall, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Charles was
predeceased by his brothers, David, Tom and Bayne.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where a time of visitation will
be held 6-8 pm on Friday, June 2, 2017. A private graveside
service will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Charles may be
made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
