Charles Grant Gillespie – February 18, 2017

Peacefully on Saturday, February 18th,2017 at Summit Place Lodge, Owen Sound, in his 95th year. Grant, loving husband of Betty (nee Graydon). Loving Father of Ann and her husband Tom Kane, the late Bill and his wife Jane, Tom and his wife Katie, and Peg and her husband Joe Melanson. Proud Grandpa of Brandon (Kim), Leslie (Krishman), Lindsay (Jason), Graydon, Mitchell (Kathryn), and Megan (Dean). Great Grandpa of Jaylin and Savannah. Survived by one dear brother Walter.
Grant was a captain in the Canadian Air Force and flew in the Lancaster bomber in World War 2. After the war, he proudly owned and operated Crest Hardware on 8th Street East in Owen Sound for 40 years. Grant was one of the last two remaining members of the 1950 Canadian Lacrosse Mann Cup Champion Team, which was inducted into the Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame.
A private family interment will be held in the spring.
Memorial donations to the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce would be appreciated by the family.
