Charles “Charlie” Campbell
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Charles ‘
Charlie’ Campbell ,age 62, on Friday, July 14th,2017 at his little
piece of heaven on the Mira.
Charlie was a retired and well respected employee of Service
Canada. He was a dedicated volunteer to the community with Minor
Hockey, the Miners Museum and several other organizations. He loved
hockey, both playing and watching, spending time in Mira with his
family and in the last couple of years he especially enjoyed fishing
with his special granddaughter, Ella. Charlie was a hard worker and
was always helping others. He had a great sense of humor and was known
for his one liner jokes trying to make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife and best friend Celeste (Edmond);
his children Sonya (Kirk Neville), Dale ( Laura Leigh) and Chris; his
two precious granddaughters, Ella and Nora; step-granddaughters, Abbie
and Maya; brothers, David (Mildred), Barrie (Ethel) and Bernita; his
in-laws, Bernie and Wanda Edmond; numerous nieces and
nephews.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Bernie and Marion
(Hay) Campbell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, from 2-4 and 7-9
pm in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The
funeral mass officiated by Fr. Anthony O’Connor will be
celebrated Wednesday, July 19 at 11 am in St Anne’s Church,
Glace Bay. A reception will immediately follow in the
foyer.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
For those who wish, donations may be made to
the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
