Martel, Cécile (née Michaud) 1928-2017
The family announces with sorrow her death in Sturgeon Falls on Thursday, May 4th 2017 at the age of 88 years. Daughter of the late Étienne Michaud and of the late Lilliane Michaud (née Piché). Wife of the late Oderic John Martel. Beloved mother of Jean Marie (Susan), Rachelle Fauteux (Henri), Lorraine Landry (Arthur), Denis (Dee), Luc (Freda), Maurice (Madeleine), Nicole Rousselle (Michel) and Claire Zahab (John). Predeceased by her son Raymond Martel. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 21 grandchildren and her 20 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her grandson Michael. Also survived by her brothers and sisters Aline Revoy (Jim), Jeannine Labelle (late Albain), Colette Labelle (late Jean Guy), Gisèle Cédilo (Roger), Laurent Michaud (Claudette), Donald Michaud (Betty) and Yvon Michaud (Gizella). Predeceased by her brothers Paul (late Rollande), Marcel, Claude (Grace) and André (Gilda). Cécile was a former president of the Joyeux Copains club for 10 years and was an active member of the Club d’âge d’Or. She was also a proud parishioner of the former Paroisse La Résurrection. The family will receive friends at the Théoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Friday May 12th 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Sturgeon Falls, Saturday May 6th 2017 at 11 a.m. A heartfelt thank you is expressed to the nursing of Au Château, third floor and palliative care for their excellent care and compassion. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. (Cheques only)
