Obituary for Catherine Culbert (Moffat)
Culbert, Catherine Jean (nee Moffat)
September 2, 1938 to December 12, 2017
Passed away peacefully at Trillium Ridge Long Term Care Facility in Kingston, Ontario, after a long illness. Daughter of Thomas and Eleanor Moffat of Listowel, Ontario, sister of Tom Moffat (Eleanor), Ann Gibbs (Brian), and the late Jane Hergot (Larry).
Cathy graduated from the University of Guelph in 1960 with a HBSc in Home Economics. Cathy and Captain Robert Culbert were married in 1961, and raised three children, Jocelyn, Virginia, and Tom, in Brampton after living on various military bases across Canada.
In her later years, Cathy lived many happy years in Gananoque with her partner Chris Christensen, and was an awesome grandmother to Spencer and Paul Graham, Emma and Mitchell Harrison, and Riley, Liam, and Sarah Culbert.
Cathy (Kitty) will be remembered for her warm heart, positive spirit, and memorable family gatherings in “Gramanoque” with her family and Christensen clan. She made her mark being a loving and supportive mother and grandmother, running clubs in the community, and cooking the best Coq-Au-Vin and Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding in the world.
She was loved, and will be dearly missed by both of her families, and by the many friends and acquaintances she made throughout her years.
A small, private family service will be held for Cathy in 2018. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Thank you to the kind and caring staff at Trillium Ridge over the past four years. Aquamation has taken place at the Wartman Funeral Home – Kingston Chapel. For online donations and condolences please visit www.wartmanfuneralhomes.com
