1941-2017
Carol Jean Fraser, (MacDonald) July 31, 1941-June 14, 2017.
Age 75. Died peacefully at Kings County Memorial Hospital after a long
illness.
Carol was the daughter of Frank and Blanche MacDonald of
Belfast, PEI. Carol is survived by her children, Fred Dickieson and
Dawn Leger; sons-in-law Giovanni Ferrari and Marc Leger; and sisters
Shirley McLeod, Marion Ross, Tappy MacMillan.
An advocate for inclusion, tolerance and education, Carol was
an active volunteer, serving on the Provincial and National Boards of
Laubach Literacy of Canada and, most recently on the Board of the
Community Foundation of PEI as well as many local initiatives in
Souris and Eastern Kings. In 2011, after 23 years, she retired as
controller of Rollo Bay Holdings. She had previously been proprietor
of her own sewing shop, CJ’s Place, in Souris. Carol served on the
Session and Official Board of Kings United Pastoral Charge, including
as treasurer, for many years, and faithfully attended worship and
study groups. She was a joyful and loyal friend, a proud mother, and
she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will take place at St. John’s Presbyterian Church
Wed. June 28 at 3pm, the Rev. Doreen Daly presiding. Internment to
follow immediately at St. John’s Cemetery. No visitation by personal
request.
Memorial donations can be made to the Main Street Family
Resource Centre or Kings United Pastoral Charge designated
Outreach.
