Blakeney, Carman Eugene, age 82 of Oyster Pond Jeddore passed away peacefully on Feb 19, 2017 at the Oceanview Manor. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Merle and Cyril Blakeney. Carmen worked as an oil burner technician for over 30 years. He enjoyed camping and fishing in his younger years. He also loved going to the local coffee shop every morning to hear all the local gossip and loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays and would never miss a game. He also loved playing cards. Carman is survived by his daughters, Phyllis (Elliott) Murphy, Ellie Blakeney, Danny Leslie; grandchildren; Jessica and David Murphy; sisters Mavis Turple, Mona (Gus) Mosher, Brenda (John) Charest; brothers, Drew Blakeney Ward, Aggie Blakeney, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brother in law Austin Turple. There will be no funeral service by request. Donations in Carman’s memory may be made to the SPCA.
