Mr. Carl Richard Cowling, of Olds, formerly of High River, passed away at the Sunrise Encore, Olds, on June 1, 2017 at the age of 79 years. Carl will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of sixty years Irene. Children: Rick (Shauna) of Olds and their children Peter (Cathy) and their children Carter and Jackson, Katie (Craig) Swanberg and their daughter Heidi, Claire Cowling; Nancy Gunn (Randy Wentz) of Calgary; Les (Shannon ) of Nanton and their children Shaun and Kyle; Darlene (Dale)… Wells of Olds and their sons Michael and Scott; Lorna (Kyle) Williams of Olds and their children KC and Kendall. Carl was predeceased by his parents: John in 1955 and Jean in 1977, sisters: Ann in 1983 and Mary Jane in 2008. Carl was born and raised in the High River area. He and Irene resided the past three years in Olds. A Prayer Service will be said at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, 301 Macleod Trail, High River, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments to follow. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 206 – 9 Ave. SW, High River, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Fr. James Hagel celebrant.
