Zaki Farid born in Cairo Egypt passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017. He is survived by his wife Georgette of 61 years, his two children Mervette and Nader. He is also survived by his brother Bill and his wife Nabeela Farid; their children Shareif and Neil; brother -in – law George and his wife Miranda Karam; their son Peter and his wife Suzie; grand-nephews Daniel and Cesandra Karam. He is also survived by his sister in-law; Zoe Ghazouly; her daughters Mary-Anne, Helen Ghazouly, Nivene and her husband Luka; their children Alex and Adam Desyta; his cousins Jacque Hara, Albert Gabai and Dr. Sameer El Moftie.Captain Zaki Farid was active in the marine industry all his life, and retired as a Captain on BC Ferries.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 2 PM at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive on Friday, April 28, 2017. The Burial for family only will be held privately before the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the BC Cancer Agency, or the BC Stroke and Heart foundation.
