At the Quinte Health Care Belleville General Hospital, Belleville, on Friday, July 07, 2017. Albert (Bert) Cannon, age 74 of Maple Leaf, was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Brazier) Cannon. Loved father of Pam (Doug) Crawford of Maynooth, and Brent (Judi) Cannon of Peterborough. Loving Poppa of Liam, Brianne, Carter and Aaron. Brother and brother-in-law of Vern (Catherine), Dan (Marie), Bob (Shirley), Loreen and Bill. Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Ethel (Carr) Cannon and his siblings Phillip, Rose, Gerald, Aileen, Reg, Jim and Carl. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Bert worked for many years in the mines around Bancroft and was a longtime Councellor for the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Bert’s family will receive relatives and friends at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Road, Maynooth) on Monday evening 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church (51 Hwy 127, Maynooth) on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Moses Nwosu presiding. Cremation to follow at Lakefield Crematorium. Interment of Bert’s Ashes will take place in the parish cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Arthritis Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
