Obituary of Calvin Isenor
ISENOR, Calvin – age 90 of Elmsdale, passed away in the Magnolia Continuing Care, Enfield on October 11, 2017. Born and educated in Dutch Settlement, he was a son of the late Laurie and Emilie (Schaefer) Isenor.
Calvin was a co-owner of Laurie Isenor and Sons. He was proud to be from Dutch Settlement and loved this community. He was a problem solver with a quiet dignity. He was a hard worker all his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Calvin is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret; his children, Kevin (Lynn), Blake (Tamara), Luke (Marina), Lori, Calvin “Gus” (Leanne), Eugene “Gene”; grandchildren, Luke, Austin, Jack Ben, Scott, Aidan, Colin and Fallon; great grandchild, Alyssa; brother, Clark, Calabogie, ON; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings, Laurie, Lucy, Alex, Clifford, Curtis, Theodore, Anna, Sylvia, Beatrice and Neil.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-4pm Sunday, October 15 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A funeral service will be held 2pm Monday, October 16 also in Ettinger Funeral Home, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home hospitality area. Interment to take place in St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Dutch Settlement.
Donations may be made to Hope Cottage, 2453 Brunswick Street, Halifax NS B3K 2Z4.
