Wm. Earl Buchanan – formerly of RR2 Atwood, passed away peacefully at his residence in Livingstone Manor, Listowel on Friday December 16, 2016 at the age of 96. Earl enjoyed playing cards at the Atwood Men’s Club and with his many friends in their homes. He attended many fiddle jamborees and always enjoyed his visits with family and friends.
Beloved husband of the late Vera (Gilmer) Buchanan who predeceased him in 1978. Loving father of Barry Buchanan (Margaret Anne) and Sylvia Kuepfer (Norm Mcleod). Special grandpa of Ryan (Meaghan) and their children Hudson and Hazel; Kara (Mike) and their children Sophia and Ella; Tracy and her children Lauren and Danielle; Holly (Kevin) and their children Cheyenne and Ally. Fondly remembered by Andy Buchanan, Leonard Kuepfer, many nieces and nephews and the extended Stewart family.
Earl was the last surviving member of his family being predeceased by his parents William and Alice (Thorndyke) Buchanan, his companion Doris Stewart, his sisters Marie Blackwell (Tom), Mary Park (Steve), Muriel Petrie and his brother Alvin Buchanan (Minnie).
There will be no visitation. The funeral service to celebrate Earl’s life will be held at Brenneman Funeral Home, Atwood on Monday December 19, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Ernie Naylor officiating. Spring interment in Donegal Cemetery.
