Obituary of Bruce Catton
CATTON, Bruce
Passed away at Bluewater Health Services in Sarnia on Monday, November 20, 2017, at the age of 79 years. Predeceased by his parents Ralph & Lena Catton. Beloved husband of Margrit. Loving father of Randy (Tess) Catton of Barrie, Jeffery (Judy) Catton of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dale Catton (Kim Gallant) of Grand Bend. Grandfather of Cassy Catton (Corey Budgel) of Kingspoint, Newfoundland, and Colleen (Steven) Catton of Mississauga, Graham Catton of Fort Worth, Texas. Brother of Madeliene Pratt (late Charlie) of Sarnia. Uncle of Paul (Caroline) Pratt of Windsor, David Pratt (late Carol) of Wallaceburg, Diane (Bruce) Wickens of Calabogie, Karen (Bill) Beer of Sarnia, and David White of Kincardine, Patricia Fraser of Kitchener, Amanda Fraser of Kitchener & (James Cochran) of Essex, and cousin to many.
Bruce was a principal of a room school to 12 rooms. From the Durham area to Ayton, Ontario, to Strathroy-Mectcalfe, Dawn Township, Wyoming Public, Watford, to Kinnaird School where he retired in 1993. He moved to Ipperwash with his wife Margrit in 1975 until 2014. He lived in Sarnia in his last few years. He liked to travel, having travelled to Germany, Jamaica, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, St. Lucia, and Canada’s east coast. He loved to play the piano whenever he could, and was always there for his family.
There will be a Celebration of Life at DENNING’S OF FOREST, 9 James Street South, Forest, on Saturday, November 25, 2017, from 2:00pm – 4:00 pm. Legion Members are invited to attend at the Funeral Home at 1:45 pm for a service. For those who wish, in memoriam donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be left at www.denning.ca
