1984 – 2017
Obituary of Brian Hutchings
BRIAN CHRISTOPHER JOHN HUTCHINGS
Brian Hutchings (33) born March 22, 1984 passed away suddenly in Toronto, Ontario on Sunday, November 5th, 2017. Buchans was Brian’s first home before moving to Bishop Falls. In 2004 he relocated to Toronto where he battled drug addiction and homelessness.
Brian loved his rap music, he had a great sense of humour, a kind heart and was a loyal friend. He was a proud Newfoundlander, well known on the streets of Toronto as “Newf”. Rest easy Newf!
He leaves to mourn his mother Jackie, father John, brothers Robert (Tammy Smith) and Michael, grandfather Robert and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to extend a huge thank you to the Sanctuary in Toronto (his safe haven), all the outreach workers and his ‘street’ friends who provided him with their kindness and support.
In life, one little decision can make a huge impact on not just you but also those that love and care for you. During this difficult time, we need to put aside our judgements and support all those that are grieving. Let’s try to create a positive change for the real struggles of addiction and homelessness.
The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 4:00 till 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11th. There will be a private ceremony and commitment of ashes at a later date. Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
