Obituary Overview
Brenda Armstrong
Brenda Armstrong of Bayfield passed on December 11th, 2017 in her home. She will be greatly missed by her three children and their families, Scott Armstrong, Tim and Carly Armstrong, LeaAnne and Pete Ross and step children of her late life partner Matthew Smith, Victoria Smith and Chris Hodder, Richard Smith, Mary Smith and Philippe Bourbonniere and her grand children Chasmine, Liam, Mitchell, Eddie, Nicolas, Gabriel, Ruby and soon to be baby “X” Ross. She will also be missed by her mother Irene Tyndal her beloved brothers Fred and Rick and their families. And just a little bit by “that damn cat Peanut”. Cremation has taken place and a wake will be held for family next summer. Donations can be made in memory of Brenda to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation. The staff were amazing and the Close to Care Program gave us more time doing things that mattered. Rest assured that Brenda has joined the party with a damn good scotch in her hand. She had strict marching orders for those close to her and this poem is selected as such.
Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep
by Mary Elizabeth Frye
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
