1936-2017
Mr. Bowlen Gaskill of North Head, Grand Manan, NB passed away
on Monday, November 20th, 2017 with his family
by his side. He was the eldest son of the late Charles and Ella
(Parker) Gaskill.
Bowlen was a kind, giving, positive soul who loved his
friends and family dearly (even the ones with feathers). He enjoyed
baseball and the outdoors. He spent his spare time in the woods or at
the lake hunting and fishing.
Bowlen worked as a fisherman for most of his life. He also
worked on the Grand Manan Ferry, at Connors Bros., and some of the
local sheds.
Bowlen is survived by 4 daughters, Mary (Colin) Bagley of
Castalia; Sheila (Vernon) Parker of North Head; Karen (Richard) Lloyd
and Julie (Blaine) Russell both of Woodwards Cove; one brother, Eben
(Bonny) Gaskill of North Head; 15 grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by
wife Doris Kathleen (Flagg); grandsons Benjamin Boardman-Hadaway, Adam
Vernon Stuart Bagley and Brandon Matthew Shepherd; granddaughter
Jillian Karen Bagley; and one brother George Herbert
Gaskill.
Visitation will take place from the Lighthouse Church on
Thursday, November 23nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
The funeral service will be from the Lighthouse Church on Friday
November 24th at 1:00 pm. The family have
requested that donations be made to the Charlotte County Cancer
Society, in Bowlen’s memory.
