Bill Billick 2017

2017
Bill Billick
Billick, William Michael
“Bill”-
It is with great sadness we, the children of Bill, announce
his passing on December 27th, 2017 at the Aberdeen Hospital after a
brief illness with family at his side.
Dad
grew up on Red Row, Stellarton the only boy of William and Rose
Billick. Bill’s love of sport started early, and he played
many, but hockey was his passion. He was well known locally for his
hard play and we are told he was a force to be recond with. He had
been asked to try out for the NY Rangers, but home called him back.
Soon after he met and fell in love with Mom (Sandra McClure). Dads
first job after his semi-pro career was at MacBain Mine in Thorburn.
After the mine closed he gained employment with NS Power and worked
there until his retirement.
He will be sadly
missed by his only surviving sister Tosha MacMillan, New Glasgow;
sons, Bill, Bob, Mike, New Glasgow and Todd (Kim), Linacy; his pride
and joy, grandson Andrew.
He was predeceased
by his wife Sandra, parents and sisters Mary Brown Davidson and Gina
MacKay.
The family would like to thank the
following: the VON, 4th Floor North Wing Nurses; the Palliative Care
team, you are angels that walk among us; Dr. Bashar Jazrawi for
ensuring we had some private time with Dad, bless you
all.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no
services as per Dads request. Donations in Dads memory may be made to
the Aberdeen Health Foundation, Palliative Care Unit Endowment or to
the Pictou County Sports Hall of Fame.
