Bernice Rose Stock – December 24, 1926 – May 31, 2017 (age 90)

On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, Bernice Stock of Wetaskiwin passed away suddenly at the age of 90 years. Bernice was born in Leipzig, Saskatchewan, the sixth of seven children. She trained as a nurse in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and graduated as a RN in 1948. After various places of employment, she started working in Wetaskiwin where she met and later married Gordon Stock on June 6, 1956. They had one daughter, Brenda. Bernice spent every summer at the family cabin at Ma-Me-O Beach, but her favourite time spent was her and Gordon’s many trips to Hawaii. Bernice is survived by her daughter, Brenda of Wetaskiwin; sister, Lavina Gilbert of Simcoe, Ontario; along with many nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; parents, Frank and Magdalena Schweda; sisters, Eileen, Nony; brothers, Bill, Paul and Pete. She will be forever loved and deeply missed.
