Passed away with family by his side on Monday, February 20th, 2017 at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 81. Ben, beloved husband of the late Jacqueline. Loving father of Joanne Ruediger (Ernie) of Stratford, Michael Kuiack of Kitchener, and Nancy Brissett (Mark) of Kitchener. Cherished Papa of Nicole, Jordan, and Lauren. Survived by his sisters Stella Shushack, Marcy Reist (Len), brother Greg Kuiack, and also survived by sister-in-law Grace Kuiack. Predeceased by his brothers Max, Leonard, Ambrose and Sylvester. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ben retired after 42 years of work from Caya Fabrics, Kitchener, and moved back to his home town of Whitney, Ontario. The family would like express a special thank you to the staff and friends at Westmount Retirement Home for their care over the last few years as well to the nurses at Grand River Hospital-Stroke Unit for their care and compassion.
Ben’s family will receive relatives and friends from 7 pm – 9 pm on Thursday February 23, 2017 and from 9:30 am – 10:15 am on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 where a Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 am.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital -Naomi Mather Endowment Fund would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
