On June 3, 2017 Barbara “Lenore” Callioux, nee Barnes, left this earth to fly with the Angels in Heaven. The love and prayers of family and close family carried her through a courageous battle and journey with cancer. Survived, and will be greatly missed, by her daughter Shalene (Kelly) Callioux, step children Shannon Boucher and Steven Callioux. Grandchildren Brielle, Neveah, Oakland and baby Axsen. Sister Vanessa (Roger) Gingras, nephews Chad (Lisa) Gingras, Tyler (Donna) Gingras, a great nephew Duke and a great niece Jada. Extended family Roger and Kari Cunningham, Evan, Kayleen and Denver Bellerose, Tanner, Calli and Nash Cunningham. She was predeceased by her parents Chester and Donna Barnes. Lenore was born on October 31, 1946 in Meadow Lake Saskatchewan. She made her way to Alberta as a young adult where she lived the rest of her life. During her life, Lenore pursued and did many different things. She was a loans manager in a bank in her twenties, then pursued a career is Social Work where she worked in the Bonnyville and Lac La Biche area for several years before settling into being a mother and homemaker. During this time, Lenore volunteered and worked at the Kikino school in the classrooms and library on a regular basis for many years. In recent years Lenore worked as a property manager and a relocation coordinator for numerous oil and gas companies. And even tried her hand at oil & gas safety in which she became a certified Safety Auditor for small local companies in the Lac La Biche area. In 2012 Lenore became the coordinator with the Lac La Biche Out of The Elements Shelter. She was very passionate about the shelter and was an advocate for the homeless in Lac La Biche. Lenore requested to be cremated and wished not to have a formal funeral service. There will be a small intimate gathering being held with close friends and family. As she would have wanted in lieu of flowers please donate to the Lakeland out of the Elements Shelter.
