Barbara Lenora Dunster (nee Quinn)
April 23, 1935 – August 23, 2017
Passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, August 23, 2017 in her 83rd year. Barbara was the beloved wife and childhood sweetheart of Donald Samuel Dunster and loving mother to Dawn and “Joined at the Hip” Jayne (Ed). Predeceased by adored son Dale. A beautiful and generous lady, Barbara was a loving sister to the late Beverly Boyd (late George) of Brockville and Joan Scott (Gary) of Newmarket. She was grandmother to Nadra (Joe) and great grandmother to Carter, Alexis, Talon, Madden and Temperance. “Auntie Barb” to several nieces and nephews. Barbara preferred conversation over silence, was a great listener and could keep a secret. She was most comfortable in the kitchen where she could engage in her favourite activity “feeding people”. She was a gracious and classy hostess whose policy was “presentation is everything” and it showed in everything she put her hands to. Her talents and work ethic, be it through employment or volunteering, was appreciated by numerous community organizations. Her moto was “inconvenience yourself at least once every day” of which she clearly led by example. With Barbara, family always came first. This lovely lady endured much illness from a very early age, but largely due to her incredible stamina, determination and “I’m tough” and her positive attitude, she was able to enjoy many happy times, all of which she was truly grateful. Many thanks and much gratitude to Dr. Philip Stratford, Dr. B. Rajendran and Dr. Garth Hansen. At Barbara’s request there was no service. A private burial took place on Friday August 25th in Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough. Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.
