Barbara Joan Lovett – 83, of
Kentville, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of
the late Esther (Smith) and Jack MacMellon. Barbara was always a
loving mother and wife and family always came first. She enjoyed
military life, especially posting time. Carl would come home with the
news and Barbara would get out the “atlas” to see
where she would be living for the next five years. Happy times. She is
survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Carl; two sons, Mitchell
Lovett, Ottawa and Anthony Lovett, Tel Aviv, Israel; daughter-in-law,
Marcie Mycan, Tel Aviv; two brothers, Grant (Lillian) MacMellon,
Moncton; Jack MacMellon, Halifax; a sister, Scott (Terry) Stott,
Moncton; grandchildren, Ryan, Scott and Mikaela, all of Ottawa; Katie,
Halifax; Ricki, London, England. Cremation has taken place. A memorial
gathering and reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, December
6, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A sharing of
memories will begin at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at a later
date in Ottawa. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
