Obituary of Astrid Gutthardt
GUTTHARDT, Astrid (Kuhl)
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning…. Luke 24:1a
After a brief illness with her family at her side, God graciously called Astrid home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ at the Niagara Health System – General Site on Sunday, November 12, 2017 in her 84th year. Loving and deeply cherished mother of Jutta Gutthardt, Sherif and Sigrid Nabhan, Richard and Alison (Cann) Gutthardt, and Margaret Gutthardt. Deeply loved Oma of Justin Andreas, Abigail Joy and Euan John Uwe. Predeceased by her loving husband, Uwe, her parents, Richard and Lilli (Maron) Kuhl (Klein), her step father, Henry Klein, her brother, Dieter Kuhl, her brother, Arno Kuhl, her sister in law, Ute Grob, her brother in law, Roland Grob, and her brother in law, Franz Rusch. Survived by her brother Günter (Erna) Kuhl, and sister in law Ilse Kuhl, all of St Catharines, and her sister in law, Ingrid Kuhl of Hamilton, her sister in law, Melitta Rusch, and her sister in law, Brigitte (Gerhard) Weichbrodt, all of Germany. Also, survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout North America and Germany. Special thanks to all the medical staff at the NHS – General Site who cared for Astrid, especially Dr. Velasquez, the nursing staff on 2A (especially Gayle and Shelly) and the ER and HIU nurses. The family will receive friends at the VINELAND CHAPEL of the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3777 King St. on Wednesday, November 15th from 6-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 605 Vine St., St Catharines on Thursday, November 16th at 11 am. Interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to Voice of Hope Mission or Lema’an Zion Inc. would be appreciated by the family.
