1971-2017
Ashley V. Thornton, formerly of Central Waterville, NB passed away on
January 27, 2017 at Bashaw, Alberta. Ashley was born in 1971 at
Fredericton, NB, a son of Deborah (Priest) Thornton and the late Zenas
Thornton.
Ashley was a huge Montreal Canadiens Hockey Fan. He enjoyed
woodworking and working with hands-on projects. Ashley had an
infectious smile and was best known for his joking and teasing
personality and was always teased about his dark complexion.
He is survived by his partner, Amanda, Bashaw, AB; two sons, Kage
Thornton, Calgary, AB and Niklas Greene, Alberta; a daughter, Kendal
Waugh, Calgary, AB; his mother, Deborah Priest, Millville, NB; three
brothers, Raymond Thornton (Angie), Nackawic, NB, Jonathan Thornton,
Central Waterville, NB and Stephen Morgan (Barb), Fredericton, NB;
five nephews, Dylan, Caleb, Josh, Ben and Luke; three nieces, Rayanne,
Kaitlyn and Haley; two great nephews, Brycen and Riley; several aunts,
uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father Zenas Thornton, Ashley was predeceased by
his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Laura Priest and his paternal
grandparents, James and Willa Thornton.
Visiting hours will be held at Temperance Vale United Pentecostal
Church, 34 Pike Hill Road, Temperance Vale, NB on Saturday, February
25, 2017 from 12 noon until 2 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2
pm with Rev. Paul Thornton officiating. Interment will be later at
Waterville Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Ashley, the family
has suggested the Canadian Mental Health Association (NB) or a charity
of the donor’s choice.
